Technology Doesn't Make Great Dentistry. Understanding Your Smile Does.

At Mona Lisa Smile Dental, we believe the best treatment begins with the best diagnosis. Technology is not a substitute for clinical judgment. It is a tool that helps us see more, measure more accurately, and make better decisions for every patient.

Sound Familiar?

Are You Dealing With Any of These?

These are the situations advanced diagnostics are built for. Our approach starts with understanding, not guessing.

Told you need a procedure, but want to understand why before agreeing to it
Jaw pain, clicking, or headaches with no clear explanation
Bleeding gums, or a family history of gum disease
Snoring, grinding, or a partner who notices you stop breathing at night
Considering implants, orthodontics, or a full mouth rehab and want the complete picture first
Why It Matters

Diagnosis Is Only as Good as the Data Behind It.

A visual exam reveals what is obvious. Advanced diagnostics reveal what is not: microscopic fracture lines, early inflammatory changes, bone density shifts, airway dimensions, bite force patterns. We invest in diagnostic technology because understanding your situation completely, before recommending treatment, is simply how we practice.

Why Advanced Technology Matters

We Don't Rely on Assumptions. We Rely on Objective Findings.

Many dental problems cannot be fully understood by looking with the naked eye. Modern diagnostic technology allows us to evaluate your oral health with greater precision before recommending treatment.

Instead of relying on assumptions, we rely on objective findings. This allows us to create treatment plans that are personalised, predictable, and designed for long-term success.

How It Works

Our Investment in Technology Reflects One Goal

To provide more accurate diagnoses, more predictable treatment, and longer-lasting results.

Step 1

Comprehensive Clinical Exam

Visual and tactile examination, range of motion testing, muscle palpation, and oral cancer screening at every visit.

Step 2

Targeted Imaging & Testing

CBCT imaging, digital scanning, salivary diagnostics, or airway screening, selected based on your specific situation.

Step 3

Same-Day Review

Findings explained in plain language, with the images and data in front of you.

Step 4

A Plan Built on What We Found

Treatment recommendations based on what the data shows, not on assumption.

What We Measure

Our Diagnostic Toolkit

3D CBCT Imaging

Traditional X-rays show only part of the picture. CBCT provides detailed three-dimensional images of your teeth, bone, nerves, sinuses, jaw joints, and surrounding structures. Used for implant planning, bone evaluation, TMJ evaluation, and complex treatment planning.

Digital Intraoral Scanner

No messy impression material. Our digital scanner creates highly accurate three-dimensional images of your teeth and bite. Improves patient comfort, treatment accuracy, smile design, crown and veneer planning, and Invisalign treatment.

Digital Smile Analysis

A beautiful smile should complement your face, not simply your teeth. Digital smile analysis helps us evaluate tooth proportions, smile symmetry, lip support, facial harmony, and esthetic balance. Treatment becomes personalised rather than standardised.

Bite & Occlusal Analysis

A beautiful smile should also function properly. An unstable bite may contribute to broken teeth, cracked crowns, jaw discomfort, tooth wear, and muscle fatigue. Our bite evaluation identifies these issues before treatment begins.

aMMP-8 Inflammation Testing

Healthy gums are essential for long-term oral health. When appropriate, we use aMMP-8 testing to detect active inflammation that may not yet be visible during a routine examination. This information helps guide preventive and periodontal care.

Salivary Diagnostics

Your saliva contains valuable information about your oral environment. When indicated, salivary testing may help identify bacteria and other factors associated with periodontal disease, implant complications, and oral health.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)

PRF is created from your own blood and contains concentrated growth factors that support bone regeneration, soft tissue healing, implant treatment, bone grafting, and tooth extractions. Supporting your body's natural healing response.

Digital Photography

Clinical photography allows us to document your oral health, monitor changes over time, improve communication, plan treatment with greater precision, and educate patients about their condition. Understanding your smile is the first step toward improving it.

Technology Guided by Experience

Technology Is Only Valuable When Combined With Experience, Judgment, and Careful Planning.

We don’t guess. We measure. • We don’t rush. We understand.  • Every smile begins with the right diagnosis.

Every piece of technology in our office serves one purpose: helping us provide dentistry that is healthier, more precise, and designed to last.

We don’t invest in technology because it is new. We invest in technology because it helps us provide better care.

Common Questions

Things Patients Ask Before Getting Veneers

Yes. CBCT uses a focused, low-dose scan and is performed only when it adds meaningful information to your diagnosis and treatment plan.

Most diagnostic testing is built directly into your exam and takes only a few extra minutes. Results are reviewed with you the same day, not at a follow-up visit.

No. Testing is recommended based on your specific situation, never performed as a default. We explain why a test is relevant to you before performing it.

No. Airway screening is also used to evaluate grinding, jaw loading, and bite instability, all of which are often connected to airway issues even without a formal sleep apnea diagnosis.
